Orange San Jose Sharks and the verbal fellating of Tim Lincecum

During the second half of the season, I noticed that the San Jose Sharks website began using orange fairly regularly in its color scheme. This recent image on their site makes me wonder if the Sharks will introduce orange in their main color scheme. Since day 1, the Sharks have used Burnt Orange for the stick in the primary logo but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if they used the orange for jersey and sock piping and/or striping next year. I don’t have any sources on this, just intarweb rumors, but I’ll keep you up to date on this. (And by “you”, I mean the 3 people that read this blog.)

Tim Lincecum is a hot shot, 22 year-old fireballin’ pitcher for the San Francisco Giants who has compiled a 2-0 record in his rookie year with 25 strikeouts. He’s good. He’s quite good. The problem is that every sports writer and sports radio personality knows it and talks about it to death. I’m not one to pay much attention to baseball, so you can imagine how bad it is when even I notice the verbal (and literary) fellating of this kid. Lots of people are putting lots of weight on this shoulders and I think it’s much too early to crown him the next great Giants pitcher. Let the kid enjoy his rookie season without handing him the franchise. Giants supporters surely don’t want to bet the house on him with an inevitable sophomore slump looming. (I’m not evil. Really. I’m not.)

Quick Thoughts:

- Ron Wilson and the rest of the Sharks coaching staff will be back next year. Was Pat Burns not available?

- Chris Osgood, a capable starting goalie relegated to keeping the Detroit Red Wings’ bench warm, has become quite the chemistry locker room guy. Read about it here, and here. Good for him. I’ve always been a fan of his. You can’t really go wrong with a Stanley Cup-winning goalie who has racked up over 300 wins.

Hello, and an introduction

Greetings, I am Billy Ramirez and I welcome you to my new blog. I currently work at mywaves, an awesome provider of videos for your mobile phone.

I have several reasons for starting this blog. The first one is simply that I got tired of having a dormant web page and by installing WordPress, I can easily update the blog from just about anywhere. The second reason is that this blog will give me a simple way to knock the rust off my writing skills. I was the Assistant Editor for DRUM! Magazine from August 2004 to May 2006, and I have not written much since then. Lastly, this blog gives me a quick way to share with you the DRUM! Magazine articles I have written.

Eventually, I will focus this blog to a few primary subjects but for now I am content in simply rambling a bit as I bring my writing skills back up to speed.

Thanks for visiting!
